On The First Anniversary

'Varthakalkku Pinnil' is an experiment by some of us in Doordarshan, Thiruvananthapuram. It was a search to find whether an objective analysis of events, with in a 'defined platform of neutrality' will succeed in the 'newsy' environment of Kerala. The name was suggested by Baiju Chandran. As the name suggested, the show explored the 'unseen' realms of publicised news. As a Public Service broadcaster, we had to take the risk of walking over a razor's edge, which most of us accepted as a challenge. As we complete one year of existence, it is heartening to realise that 'Varthakalkku Pinnil' had carved a space for itself in the cacophony of channel discussions in Kerala. As we move ahead, we welcome bouquets as well as brickbats! Its a living world, all are welcome to enrich our experience with your valauble comments!
